Carry on with the sequence of click + drag, holding Ctrl and tapping the Spacebar until the rotation is complete. You can open your photo from the start screen that appears when you open Inkscape.

Keep holding down Ctrl to shift the position. 1.Before you crop anything, you need to open your image in Inkscape. Click + drag the handle and tap the Spacebar each time to create a new duplicate.

I've tried flipping the text before putting on path but it corrects itself as soon as it goes on the path. The duplicate will be created as you drag and tap the Spacebar together. I guess I could do it using 2 circles, and put one word around the outside of one circle, then the other inside the other but that seems very long and likely to cause alignment issues. I add the second word, Put On Path, rotate circle until it is at the bottom BUT.the text is now facing into the circle and upside down compared to the first word. This way you can curve your text around any shape you want.
#MOVE TEXT AROUND CIRCLE IN INKSCAPE HOW TO#
In my method I’ll show you how to curve the text in a way you can manipulate each letter in your text. I can add one word, Put On Path, rotate the circle until it is at the top, then Object To Path to fix it in place. I really don’t like doing it that way because you cannot control the text itself. You can do that either on the Text control bar or Text and Font. But the best way Ive found, is when you type the text, make sure its centered, and not left aligned. Sometimes Ive typed in a certain number of spaces to move the text around in just the right way. Once you have the text on a path you can select the circle twice, and rotate it using the rotate handles Select the text box twice to see the rotation handles appear Move the centre of rotation to the centre of the circle. For your item 1, using a Guide and rotating the circle is a clever way to do it.
#MOVE TEXT AROUND CIRCLE IN INKSCAPE MANUAL#
I've tried everything I can think of and google has failed me :( To get text on a path you need to select one text box (not multiple) and the circle, then do Text > Put on Path. Its practice involves creativity, innovation and lateral thinking using manual or digital tools, where it is usual to use text and graphics to communicate. This should put the text inside the circle. Now again navigate to tool panel and take Text tool from the list of tools or hit F8 of keyboard for having this tool active. It totally depends on you which path you want to take.

You can draw an ellipse for having curved path of your text. Now, with the circle selected, go to the Path menu, and select 'Reverse'. Now hold shift and Ctrl key of keyboard for drawing a circle like this. The text will go to the outside of the circle (and you can rotate the circle until it's at the top). A little difficult to explain but I want to put text at the top and bottom of a circle but have both words facing the right way up. Put your text on the circle as you've mentioned above.
